Wet across Java, Bali and Lombok, with humidity, rough seas and possible transport disruption.
May to September generally brings drier weather to Bali, Java, Lombok and Flores, although peak crowds rise in July and August. Central Kalimantan remains humid year-round. November to March brings heavier monsoon rain, rougher boat crossings and occasional changes to Komodo or Gili sailing schedules.
Where to Go
Bali, East Java and Yogyakarta anchor classic routes; Central Kalimantan, Komodo And Flores, and Lombok And Gili Islands reward longer journeys by river, boat and road.

When is the best time to visit Indonesia?
May to September is generally driest. Bali peaks in July and August; Komodo boat conditions are often best from April to November.
Do Indian passport holders need a visa for Indonesia?
Yes. Indian citizens can normally obtain a Visa on Arrival or apply for an e-VOA, subject to current immigration rules.
Which languages are spoken in Indonesia?
Bahasa Indonesia is official. Javanese, Balinese, Sasak and many local languages are common; English works in established visitor areas.
