When to Go
Pick a month. Weather is typical for the time of year; price and availability are our own departures, not a market forecast.
Around 27°C with 264mm rain; the wettest normal, with storm monitoring particularly important.
Vietnam is suitable from January to December, but conditions differ sharply by latitude. Published normals rise from 24–25°C in December and January to 30°C in March and April. Rain increases from April, peaks around September at 264mm, then falls to 33mm in December. Central-coast storms, northern winter chill and southern tropical showers should be checked for the chosen route.
Where to Go
The principal route links Hanoi and Ha Long Bay in the north, Hue and Da Nang And Hoi An centrally, then Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta.
Vietnam’s shape explains its story: Red River governments looked north, central ports traded across the South China Sea, and the Mekong connected southern farms with Cambodia.
